We are filling the calendar page up with events in the church. Our News: Nancy has had her Gall Bladder out on Tuesday 4/13/2010. It was successful and she has recovered from the immediate effects of the surgery. Nancy is recovering nicely from her cancer surgery. Nancy’s right eye was worked on (major eye surgery) but will probably never be 100% again. We do hope it slowly improves and she regains vision in the center of the eye. The cataract surgery on her right eye went well, as expected, but her eye is still being affected by the previous scar tissue from the infection she had in that eye some time ago. Please pray for further improvements for her right eye. My eyes have had problems and surgeries over the past few years. I pray they will not give any more problems for a while. Some History: Nancy and I were both stationed in Norfolk, VA in the US Navy, where we met. We were married in the botanical gardens by the airport there. I came through the Roanoke airport (where I work now) in transit, while I was in the Navy. We came through the Roanoke area on our honeymoon just a couple of years later. We loved this part of the country. I grew up in the hills of Western PA and, believe it or not, there are hills in Iowa, where Nancy grew up. When we got the chance to move here with an opening with my company, Piedmont Airlines formerly Henson Airlines, we took the opportunity. We were on the eastern shore of Maryland and Delaware for about nineteen years before moving here. We found a house east of Roanoke, in the eastern hills around the Blueridge Mountain area, not far from the Blueridge Parkway.
