other sons including the devil. Let truth rein and not falsehood.
*Heb. 1:13-14*  The angels not only minister to God but they minister to us, His adopted children. We are not much more than ministers here on earth. We are in service to God until such time as He calls us home to be with Him. Just as we would be compelled to serve an earthly father and go into the fields to work, as His adopted children we should go into His fields to work.

Jesus was with the Father in the beginning, creating the worlds. He came to this earth to fulfill God's plan to redeem man. (John 3:16) He died, crucified for us, was buried and rose again on the third day to sit with the Father in heaven. He is everlasting and will be with the Father forever.
Now it is our turn to obey the Father in heaven. When we do we will have a place with the Father. Being adopted isn't so bad as long as the right person adopts us. God is that right "person."

Illust. I have this vision of orphanages. Boys and girls at the orphanage getting ready for review often want to look and act their best to impress a prospective adopter. They want to get away from the life in the orphanage and will put on an act for the prospective adopters.
We don't want it to be an act. God sees the heart and knows what we think. If it is just an act we will be sadly discouraged when He doesn't choose us at the judgment.  It is a matter of the heart. Aware that we are sinful people we must have our hearts ready to obey. We must believe the word, confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, we must repent of our sin and we must be immersed into Jesus name for the forgiveness of sin. When we do these things we will be adopted as sons and daughters and heirs to the promise of eternal life with Him. That's even better than being a real, biological, son or daughter of an earthly father.
The adopted child doesn't go back to the old orphanage to live anymore. He doesn't play in the same playground as before. Unless we are going back to try to bring others out for adoption we must stay away from those old places. We have a new place to stay, with other Christians. We have a new place to play, away from the falsehood and lies of the old neighborhood. That is, we meet around the table of remembrance each first day of the week and we keep ourselves from the bar or other ungodly things. We do what it says in Acts 2:42 "And they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles teaching, and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."
Jesus in teaching His disciple about dealing with people told them how          important to Him their meeting together was. Mat. 18:20 "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in their midst." When His people gather in His name he promised to honor us by being there. We gather every first day of the week in His name to worship Him, sing praises to Him, pray to the Father through Him, give tithes and offerings for Him, preach about Him and do what it says in (Acts 20:7) that is to meet on the first day of the week to break the bread of remembrance of Him
Up till now we have talked about sons or children and being adopted. We need to talk a little about fathers and their roll in the children. My father has been an example to me in many ways through life. Fathers are to teach the children in the way of the Lord. Both in the Old Testament and New, fathers are given admonition to teach their children. That includes adopted children. He must treat them as his own. Eph. 6:4 says "Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger; but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."
