Let me say a few words about that.
Last month I published an article in the newsletter called Interdenominationalism. Within a week after I published the article I found an advertisement card in the mail at the church building for a seminar put on by our brotherhood churches. The seminar is to have a mixed cast of speakers, those said to be from the Church of Christ/Christian Churches and some clearly from the denominations, either in person or by tape. We have had some of the brightest men in the country within our ranks including governors, senators and presidents. We have had Bible college presidents, PhD's and theologians. I don't see why we need the broad spectrum of opinions, from other sources, when we have the manpower and the Spirit power to "Equip The Saints," ourselves. I hope my opinion is worth something to you.
Newsy Stuff
We have been studying through Romans at a leisurely pace for the Sunday morning worship service. We have seen that no man (or women) anywhere is justified before God because of their sin. We have seen that we are only made perfect through the blood of Jesus Christ. In studying the context, we have seen Paul addressed them as saints, already saved. In Romans 6: he said "you were buried with Him in baptism" that means they were saved at baptism now to walk in a "new life," the life that Christ would have them live. In Romans 8: we found out that it referred back to that time when they were baptized to become "In Christ." So far in Romans we see that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior. There is victory in Jesus and we don't have to say "and somehow Jesus came and gave me the victory." We already know how, through His Blood met at the waters of baptism. See Revelations 7:14, Romans 6:3-5, I Peter 3:21, Gal. 3:26-29 and Acts 2:38… The new movie The Passion is said to be a moving and accurate portrayal of the last week of the life of Jesus Christ. It might be interesting to see it. We have to take into consideration that it is of human production and some human opinion may be evident…We are all exasperated by the gay agenda to legalize same sex marriage. These people haven't checked about what God wants for their lives because they don't value a relationship with God. Put God first, the rest will fall in line.
Preachin' Stuff: Apologetics
I'm not apologizing
I can't promise that I'll be consistent with the study but I would like to start a series of "apologetics" articles. That doesn't mean that I need to apologize for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It means that we are trying to explain the Bible in a reasonable, consistent and logical way. I hope I can relate it to you in that way. In other words we are defending our faith. 1 Peter 3:15 "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;" We consistently hear the announcers on the TV and radio programs and articles in some magazines give credit to "mother nature," evolution and man himself. We don't see or hear much credit going to the God who created it all. The evolutionists cannot prove evolution if their lives depended on it. The evolutionary theory came about long before Darwin but he made it popular with his book. All sorts of nonbelievers contributed all types of theories as to the origin of the earth but none have been able to produce any credible evidence that even remotely proves their theories. Unfortunate for them, we have a book that was written by those who
