Newsy Stuff

By the time you read this we should have our new Constitution and By-Laws in place. Also we will have named new Trustees…Please be careful in opening any e-mail from people you don't know, and some from people you do know. There are many bad people trying to do your computer in. If you see something from me that has a link to open please contact me first before trying to open it. I usually don't send links unless they are identified plainly and easily recognized. I have sent attachments that are identified. I have learned how to copy paste to the compose page to avoid most attachments. Many of the e-mail accounts are being used to find new e-mail recipients to try to corrupt their computer or just to sell something. Terrorism does not stop at the battlefield line any more…By the way; I have not sent the newsletter out as e-mail because many providers do not allow transmission of high-resolution graphics, especially for the free e-mail…I have e-mailed the President, and some of the others in Wash. DC, about the war. Although I am for protecting ourselves from terrorism I am not in agreement with some of the Presidents strategies in Iraq. I did not live through World War II but came along not long afterward. We can learn of war from previous ones. First, war is at best unpleasant and to be avoided if possible. Second, war is fought on the battlefield until there is a victor, and then the negotiations begin. Third, don't think too highly of yourself in any situation because your enemy surely doesn't. I just hope this war with the Islamic Jihad doesn't last as long as the last one. We are weary after just two years 200 is unthinkable. Two hundred years is too long to be always on guard. Apologetics

I'm not apologizing; Part 3.

How we prove that God exists is another matter. We can prove from archaeology that the things recorded in the Bible are true. We can prove from world history accounts that the kings and civilizations existed. We cannot prove so readily the existence of God Himself. We read the Bible accounts and see that the Bible writers assume His existence. We read that He created the universe. We read that He created man. We see where He set all of nature in order but we cannot point to anything definite that proves without a shadow of a doubt that He exists. That's one of the reasons why there are so many skeptical people in the world, and always have been. They seem to say, "Just because the Bible says so doesn't make it so." They are much like Pharaoh when Moses approached him saying, "The Lord said, let my people go." He said, "Who is the Lord?" He was an authority to himself and didn't need anyone else. This is the way many people are today. They are an authority to themselves. They will not bow the knee until they are in grave difficulty (and some not even then). When reading the Bible we fail to realize the contents are a compilation of writings from several different writers from different time periods and different continents. All these fit together like one continuous story (not a fable) that compliments each other. They aren't made up, contrived or false stories but truthful and serious. We see by their nature that they seriously confront the issues of man's sin and God's response.
We cannot find one truthful archaeologist, anthropologist, geologist or any other "ists" that can conclusively refute the Bible account with proof they can hold in their hands. As many times as there has been something supposedly discovered someone has come along and either proved it a fraud or have been able to actually prove that it does fit into the Bible somewhere. Take archeology for example. There are diggings all over the "Holy Land" that have proven many of the Bible facts previously thought to be myths. In astronomy, what they thought about the universe as little as 150 years ago has all been changed because of modern technology. They now know for certain that the Bible is true in it's ac
