Announcements:

Important Message: For the foreseeable future, since my work schedule has changed, we are going to be having Sunday School at 4:00 PM and Church Service 5:00 PM every Sunday. This is a slight change from the last newsletter. There will be no morning or evening services. All you who say I go to such and such a church during your service hours now have no excuse. You may now attend our services, at least most of the time, because it does not interfere with other church services, morning or evening. For the present, the Wednesday evening schedule will not change. It is still at 7:00PM. I encourage all who may attend the Sunday worship at Community Christian Church of Christ to attend at least one other church service, at a Church of Christ/Christian Church on Sunday morning or evening. Pray that decisions at the airline will not drastically affect the church or my family.
In another announcement, we have acquired from the author a book explaining the prophecies. It is called Nobody Left Behind by David Vaughn Elliott. He explains his book as "Insight into end time prophecies." We will be delving into it in a classroom study. I have printed some articles written by this author in past newsletters. The web site for the book is

Comments and Questions

I was just listening to the vice presidential debates. Actually I didn't hear the whole debate but I heard enough to make a few observations and offer some advice. I didn't hear enough of the first presidential debates to speak on them. We heard the vice president and the vice president "want to be" talk very much about the war policy and what each would do different from the other. I recently wrote about the war. We started hearing about some social concerns and their opposing views on taxes and such. I'll take a wait and see approach to these issues. I'm all for less taxes and smaller government. Most of the time there is big talk and a lot of wrangling but no real help for the people. We just seem to pay more and more. If taxes aren't going up the utility bills and the insurance is. What I am most concerned about I didn't hear much of. Where do they stand on abortion? I understand the president is against abortion but I haven't seen much action there. I hope he can appoint some judges that will take a stand for life. I heard some of where they stand on homosexuals and it disappointed me. Yes, I know, homosexuals are people too. Yes, I know, they deserve to live their lives. Their lifestyle, though, is entirely in direct opposition to God's will. Yes, there are several scriptures in both the Old Testament and New Testament that outlaw homosexuality. Unfortunately, these people have not taken the Bible seriously enough to be guided by it. Since, "faith comes from hearing and hearing from the word of God," Romans 10:17, these people don't want that much faith so they avoid the word of God. If this country (I'm talking about most of the people not necessarily the leaders) continues to ignore this direct violation of God's law we will not have God's blessing. Without that blessing we could have all the technological advantage over our enemy we want but we will continue to loose. We may be seeing the fruits of this right now. I respect the president and am planning to vote for him. I understand he has taken a stand against homosexual marriages. This is good but when a nation says no to God's will they will eventually loose not only the battles but also the entire war. When you loose the war you know what happens; someone else will be over you, that may not respect your God at all. God will give us up as he said he would in the first chapter of Romans. Since it wasn't ignorance but rebellion that caused their actions, God gave them over to their lusts and the consequences of them. The consequence of sin is death. We wink at fornication but are appalled when that person, later, cheats on his wife (or wife on husband). The word is abstinence. It works for male and female as well as those who seem attracted by the same sex. It isn't love it's lust. Unrestrained lust causes fornication, adultery and homosexuality. You don't have to you want to (have sex). All of this equates to sin. There is sin in the hearts and minds of the people of America. There must be a revival of traditional biblical values. The revival starts here with you and me. This country needs to turn from this and all sin and turn toward God. God told Israel through the prophet Isaiah; "Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord, Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are like crimson, They shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword; For the mouth of the Lord has spoken." Isaiah 1:18-20. I couldn't apply this to us without knowing that God has lived by this principle for every nation under the sun and expects us to also. History has a way
